About Microlite Corporation

Microlite Corporation has been in business since 1983, and has been committed to the Backup Software Marketplace since 1987.

We're the leader in Bare Metal Disaster Recovery Technology for Linux (IA32 and EM64T/AMD64 architectures), SCO OpenServer 6, OpenServer 5, and UnixWare 7, and we were the first company to bring a commercial bare metal disaster recovery product to market for each of those operating systems, as well as SCO Unix 3.2.x. We are recognized as having the most advanced bare metal disaster recovery product available for each of those platforms.

Our backup product contains many advanced features, including...

If you have never used a Microlite backup product, we invite you to download a free, fully functional demo copy from our ftp site, or check out our brochures and technical articles for additional information. Our products are available from better UNIX and Linux distributors, VARs and dealers throughout the world .

From the President

Thanks for visiting our web site. At Microlite Corporation our daily mission is to provide you with the finest possible products and service.

2010 brought BackupEDGE 3.0, a new release providing exciting new capabilities. Among other improvements, we're breaking new ground with a fantastic new scheduler, and enhanced support for tape drives, REV drives and optical media, including Blu-ray Disc™.

SharpDrive™ Media was introduced. This is an entirely new and innovative way of accessing and utilizing USB flash drives, hard drives and cartridge drives and SATA cartridge drives for backup and disaster recovery. Since it is from Microlite, it has more capability than any other product offering.

We've increased the value of Amazon S3 "cloud storage" twice during 2011, offering lower pricing, more storage, and more locations around the world. Remember, the monthly fee is pro-rated, making it easy to try the service for a few days for just a couple of bucks. As bandwidth becomes cheaper, this option will increasingly become a better value. See our Amazon S3 section for additional information.

We made some significant improvements to our "FTP Backups" capabilities.

Our engineers have been relentless in keeping up with the changes in newer Linux distributions. Please check out our Linux Support Tables to see what we've been working on, and what's coming up next.

2011 will bring more capabilites, starting with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 support in 03.00.03 build 3, as we strive to keep BackupEDGE a "best-of-breed" product and provide first-class support. We're in the process of a major bandwidth upgrade into our building, which will greatly speed our web site, FTP site and other connections to the outside world.

Please feel free to contact me personally with suggestions for improving our products or our company.

Kindest regards,

Tom Podnar
